On Travel

“People travel to wonder at the height of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motion of the stars; and they pass by themselves without wondering.”

Hi. I was searching through the net on quotes about travel and providentially stumbled upon your page. Since I currently suffer from wanderlust fever aka traveler’s bug, I enjoyed this gem of a quote. Due props to you since most don’t quote Augustine nowadays.
Another deceased but still all the more wise man was GK Chesteron who said about travel,
““The whole object of travel is not to set foot on foreign land; it is at last to set foot on one’s own country as a foreign land.” Indeed.

Wise men and saying indeed! Don’t we all enjoy and anticipate to have the travel bug? We yearn for it because through those journeys we also get to learn more about ourselves and our undiscovered surroundings. May you have more awesome and inspiring travels ahead! Thanks for the props. It’s one of my favorite quotes.
