Bringing Ibarra Manila to Seoul, Korea

From failed family businesses to living in the slums for eight years, to the enlightenment about poverty and the value of time, to Physics and classic films, and to power dressing and a watch that truly inspires and creates an impression. This is the inspiring story and journey behind this elegant, sophisticated, consistent with quality yet modest brand – Ibarra Watches.

A Filipino brand, a Filipino story for people of substance and heart.

I had a great privilege to be one of the first people to share about a Filipino legacy in the making on my blog a few months ago. And to be excited for its launching is an understatement. There’s something special about this brand that makes me not just enthusiastic but truly proud about it.

But to my regrets, I wasn’t able to be present at the launching of this Filipino legacy in the makingIbarra Watches last November 7, 2015 at Pablo Restaurant in Picasso Boutique-Serviced Residences in Makati as I was still in South Korea that time.

Good thing I was blessed to have a nice coffee chat with the young founder of Ibarra WatchesFrancisco “Nico” Moreno before my trip to Seoul. He’s one inspiring entrepreneur who was very much involved in every detail of his business and its much anticipated formal introduction to the public. For me to feel “present” at its launching, I brought this first Filipino-branded and semi-luxury dress watch with me, which I wore during my entire trip to Seoul. I certainly missed a special event but I was proud of my own Ibarra watch that truly built an impression and even started some conversations just by wearing it.

As promised from my previous blog about Ibarra Watcheshere’s our interview on how this brand started and the inspiring story of the man behind this classic and contemporary timepiece. I hope that we’ll all get encouraged, hopeful and even have bigger visions to dream big and to make a difference wherever we are.

“First glance, follow through (keeping that first impression) and a Filipino story” – What one will receive while wearing an Ibarra Watch

Congratulations to the whole team of Ibarra Watches! Special thanks to Francisco “Nico” Moreno for letting me have a glimpse of your journey and for the very compact and ‘meaty’ video by Jonathan Balonso.

I hope that you all get something special from the video interview above. Leaving you all with some of my favorite scenes from my recent travel to South Korea this season of autumn too. :)
